About Us

Our Vision

As a collective of performance teachers;

Our Vision is to provide an environment where students learn a variety of skills to create and present imagined worlds with confidence.

What We Do

We provide a range of performing arts classes, including script work, musical theatre classes, and devising-based courses. We teach our students with passion as all of our staff share a love for performing arts, whether it be the stage, the screen or somewhere immersed behind the scenes.

Our teachers come from a variety of backgrounds and all have different aspects of knowledge to share with the students.

Our classes are all unique as they are taught by a variety of teachers and all follow their own curriculum.

We present a mid-year showcase at the conclusion of Term 2 and an end of year production at the conclusion of Term 4 to showcase the amazing talent of our students and to give students a chance to perform on stage.

Our Aims

  • To enable students to develop a diverse set of skills through the world of performing arts
  • To offer performing arts opportunities to students through a wide range of classes
  • To absolutely have fun while growing confidence!

Kate Moetaua, ASB, LTCL, Grad Dip Teaching, established the Kate Moetaua School of Drama in 2004 and taught at Wakatipu High School as the Drama Teacher for 6 years until 2018 where she was much loved and respected by colleagues and students alike.  Kate's passion, determination and love of the performing arts have inspired us to establish The Kate Moetaua Collective.

The Collective Umbrella

Providing an umbrella for performing arts enables us to offer a wide range of workshops and activities for Wakatipu residents utilising the local talent living in our beautiful town.

All our students have the opportunity to work towards stage performances which include their individual passions.

We hope to honour Kate's memory, and promote involvement  in the performing arts in the Wakatipu.
